Welcome to the Weekend!

It is finally Friday! This week seriously seemed to just drag on because of vacation and break coming up soon here. It always happens that way. Anyway, Peter and I are going to be super busy this weekend with trying to get all of our things into 1 suitcase a piece plus a carry-on...overall, it should be interesting as I seem to pack my entire wardrobe that is expanding daily. My mom always tells me that I do not need an outfit for every single day. I beg to differ. You cannot wear the same thing 2 days in a row...it just does not work that way. Then she tells me that she has a washing machine, but then you are still wearing the same thing 2 days in a row so what is the difference if it is clean or dirty?? My family always teases me about my enourmous closet, but Peter is not much better:)

Well, we are most likely going to the mall tonight to work on some Christmas items. I have a list for every member of my family on my side and Peter's side. We should be able to get most of it completed here in a couple weeks. There are a few key items that I want badly for Christmas. One specifically being a new winter coat. I am partial to the Jessica Simpson collection for coats because she has some very elegant and classy coats for this season. I am definitely putting that on my wish list. Also, I am on the lookout for a nice watch with diamonds...yes, diamonds. I have found quite a few at great prices because of the jewelry stores doing so poorly and most of them are going out of business. It is definitely a buyer's market as long as you have the money to do so. Now is not the time to dig yourself deeper into debt because of the the lack of job security in the world. Be smart with your money and don't buy something unless you can pay for it that day!

Anyway, the weekend is here and it is time to get on some of these tasks to prepare for the week ahead. I have lots of homework to finish so that I won't have to do too much when we are on vacation next week. I have to say that I love my Masters classes. These courses have taught me more this first 8 weeks than I learned in 4 years at Liberty...that has got to tell you the higher quality once you have graduated:) Have a great weekend everyone!

And The Diagnosis Is...

I finally decided to cave in and go to the doctors this morning. I went to work with Peter this morning, then left around 7:45 to get to the doctors at 8. I have to say that I love Physician's Treatment Center here. Peter and I went to them when we got in our car accident back in December and they were nothing short of amazing to us both. Anyway, I was given some stronger cough medicine and some bacteria-killing medicine to treat pnemonia and other cold viruses. There has been a bout of walking pnemonia here in our office and I wanted to make sure that was not the case and thankfully it is not. I really have a lot more energy today than I have in the past week so hopefully this stupid bug is leaving me.
So my mom sent me this thing that my brother did online with one of his friends at college. Have you ever elfed yourself before? If not, this is the link to do so.... http://elfyourself.jibjab.com/. It is absolutely hilarious to watch when you have put in your pictures. I think I am going to try this with Peter tonight for a little bit of Christmas spirit:)

The Weekend is Over

Happy Monday! I really am starting to try to learn to love Mondays, but it is hard after a great weekend. I have come down with a nasty cold and cough so I spent a majority of the weekend just resting up for this coming week. I have quite the collection of medicines to help with anything imaginable. I am feeling somewhat better today, which I am happy about. Peter and I went wedding registry shopping for our good friends who are getting married in December. We headed to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and printed out their 28-page registry...and I thought Peter and I had a lot of gifts we wanted:) We ended up finding a couple great things for them, but we could not leave the store without finding some things that we wanted as well. We left with a new bed set, another picture to add to my shoe picture collection in our bedroom, a new shower curtain, and some other random things that we found. That store is very enticing with all the little gadgets that just scream 'you have to have me to make your house complete'. We made about 3 trips to Target this past weekend to start getting a few Christmas gifts for our nephew and my brother. I can't believe that Christmas is right around the corner!

Peter and I are heading to Michigan next Wednesday. We are flying out of Roanoke and heading to GR. We are excited to see our family and friends that we have not seen in a while. The last time everyone was 'together' was at our wedding almost 6 months ago. I don't even count that as a family get together because of how busy and preoccupied everyone was. There was no time for relaxation until it was all said and done. Peter has not been home with me to Michigan since Spring Break of my Junior year, which was about 3 years ago. I remember that week like it was yesterday. We had only been dating about two months prior to that and I wanted to bring him home to meet my family. I ended up taking on the task of the 12 hour drive with Kristin Wolfe and another friend, Scott. We were pretty smashed in the car with all our luggage and snacks to carry us out through the night drive. We switched drivers a couple times here and there, but eventually made it around 7 AM to our final destination. That week was full of Peter and I getting to know each other better and my family being able to interact with him as well. I knew that he was the one that I was going to marry that week. He was everything and more that I had ever dreamed of in a man and still never ceases to amaze me even today. I am so thankful and blessed to be married to a man like him.
Anyway, I am going to head to lunch with my husband now. The work day is almost over than we are headed to our dance classes tonight:)

Our First Post

Well, today is our first time experimenting with the whole blog thing.  We wanted to be able to have our friends and family around the country be able to keep up with our life.  Hope you enjoy hearing about our first year of marriage and the many years to come.
